Makalu Treks: 20 days

The trek to Makalu base camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. It is an ideal trek for those with the time and desire to experience lifestyle of different ethnic people and the cultures, to view incredible range of landscapes from mountain to glacial terrain. We follow the Arun River, pass through the beautiful villages of Sedua and Num from where we will have a nice view of Makalu (8,438m) and Chamlang (7,317m).

Itinerary
Day 01:Arrive Kathmandu & transfer to hotel
Day 02:Preparation day
Day 03:Fly Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (860m) and trek to Khandbari (1040m, 4 hrs)
Day 04:Trek to Chichila (1,830m, 6 hrs)
Day 05:Trek to Num (1,490m, 5 hrs)
Day 06:Trek to Sedua (1,460m, 6 hrs)
Day 07:Trek to Tashi Gaon (2,070m, 5 hrs)
Day 08:Trek to Kauma (3,470m, 6 hrs)
Day 09:Rest day at Kauma
Day 10:Trek to Mumbuk (3,570m, 5 hrs)
Day 11:Trek to Nhe Kharka (3,000m, 6 hrs)
Day 12:Trek to Sherson (4,615m, 6 hrs)
Day 13:Trek to Makalu Base Camp (5,000m, 4/5 hrs)
Day 14:Rest/ explore around Makalu Base Camp
Day 15:Trek back to Nhe Kharka (3,000m, 7 hrs)
Day 16:Trek to Mumbuk (3,570m, 6 hrs)
Day 17:Trek to Tashi Gaon (2,070m, 5 hrs)
Day 18:Trek to Pukuwa (1,520m, 6 hrs)
Day 19:Trek to Bumling (1,160m, 5 hrs)
Day 20:Trek to Tumlingtar (860m, 4 hrs) and fly back to Kathmandu

Note: This package can be customized according to your duration of holiday. The departure schedule could be changed on any unavoidable circumstances such as weather hazards, land slides, and avalanches. Extra cost will be added if the trip is extended.
