Mera Peak Climbing
Climbing expedition to the highest trekking peak in Nepal with its
exceptional Himalayan panoramic vista of FIVE of the world's 8000 meter peaks.
Mera peak (6461meters) is one of the most popular and highest trekking peak in
Nepal with its alpine PD difficulty grade - a little difficult with little bit
of technical climb and complicated snow walk. Mera peak climbing is technically
straightforward but physically demanding trip in Himalaya suitalbe for fit and
keen hill walkers looking to take part in a real Himalayan climbing expedition.
Besides the charm of Mera peak climbing, the trek from Lukla to Mera base camp
explores some of the remote and wild alpine areas of the Hinku valley, south of
Mt. Everest. Trekking Mera peak also provides a great opportunity for those who
dreams & dare to stand on the Himalayan summit with a sense of great
achievement.
Mera peak climbing itinerary has been carefully designed to allow for gradual
ascend and proper acclimatization. After an exciting flight to Lukla we trek
along the longer route via Pangkongma and Panch Pokhari on ou way to Mera peak.
We believe that by trekking the longer route one has a higher chance of safe
summit enjoying the climbing experience at its best. We established Mera La base
camp at an elevation of 5415 meter where we have separated an extra day for
climbing training. Our climbing guide organise training course on requried
climbing skills on various aspect of climbing techniques, gracier travel, rope
fixing, ascending & descending on the relatively safe mountain before the summit
day to ensure all have neccessary climbing skills and confidence to summit the
top successfully. To make the summit day shorter and enjoyable, we climb further
high and set the hight camp at 5800 meter on a rocky shelf behind a large
vertical rock providing some degree of shelter. Probably the panoramic view seen
from the Mera high camp is one of the best of its kind. We approach the northern
route to the summit which is gradual climbing with an outstanding mountain
panorama always in sight. The view from the summit is one of the finest in the
Himalaya with five 8,000 m peaks visible include Mt. Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu
(8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Nuptse (7855m)
and Chamlang (7319m) amongst.
We stay on the full supported tented camping away from the teahouse where our
cook and kitchen staff prepares all fresh and hygienic food in this Mera Peak
climbing trip. As a safety precaution we carry the Portable Altitude Chamber
(PAC), comprehensive medical kit and a satellite phone with us on this Mera peak
expedition trip in Himalaya.
