Kathmandu Lhasa Overland Tour


All our tours visit the main tourist destinations in central Tibet- Lao Tingri, Lhatse, Shigatse, Gyantse, Lake Yamdruk Tso, and eventually reach Lhasa. Before ending the tour in Lhasa, we organize a two-day guided sightseeing tour around Lhasa.
Due to the strict traveling rules imposed by the Chinese government, travelers are not allowed to make any independent activity / tour inside Tibet. So, once you complete the package tour, you are not allowed to remain in Lhasa or in Tibet independently.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) and transfer to hotel
Day 02: Explore the best of Kathmandu
Day 03: Half day guided sightseeing to World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley; tour briefing and preparations

Leave Nepal
Day 04: Drive to Zhangmu (2,500m/8,200ft)
Day 05: Drive to New Tingri (4,350m/14,104ft)
Day 06: Drive to Shigatse (3,900m/12,792ft)
Day 07: Drive to Gyantse (3,950m/12,596ft)
Day 08: Drive to Lhasa (3,650m/11,972ft)
Day 09: Guided sightseeing to Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, kora around Barkor Street with Tibetan pilgrims
Day 10: Guided tour to greatest monastery in Lhasa-Drepung, summer Palace-Norbulinkha and Sera Monastery

Return to Kathmandu
Day 11: Transfer to Gonggar Airport and fly to Kathmandu
