DHANKUTA-TAPLEJUNG-ILLAM HOME STAY TOUR – 10 DAYS

This is the combination of trekking, hiking, tour by overland transport and Home stay in the most beautiful and typical village of Nepal. Actually this part of Nepal is not well known to the outsiders so it is less touristic because of it’s wild nature and far distance from Kathmandu. You can experience typical Limbu cultural activities followed by Kirats, Brahmins and kshetries.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Dharan by Bus/ air
Day 2: Dharan to Basantapur by jeep. On the way stopping at Bhedetar, Dhankuta and Hile and relax. Overnight at Basantapur in a hotel
Day 3: Basantapur to Gufa Pokhari Hiking. Overnight at Gufa pokhari.
Day 4: Gufa Pokhari to Dovan Trekking. Overnight Home stay at Deulinge.
Day 5: relax, experience Nepalese home stay, meet and see peoples, their culture,etc. In the afternoon raft or swim in the Tamor river.
Day 5: Trek to suketar and in the evening and evening home stay with limbu culture experience.
Day 6: Hike to Nangkholyang. 2 days of home stay with full of village activities like swimming in Tamor river, go to the forests, learn cooking, milking animals, etc. in Nangkholyang
Day 8: Nangkholyang to Illam via jeep. Homestay at Illam . visit to the most beautiful tea estate of Asia in illam, beautiful villages lost within the land scapes, lakes and so on in illam.
Day 9: slowly move towards Fikkal, stop for few hours and again to jhapa finally. Overnight at Itahari at Home.
Day 10 : fly to Kathmandu . relax and rest.

Itinerary
Day 01: APT Meeting & TXF to Hotel. After check in HTL, Brief Schedule, then free. (Comp. Drink, room)
Day 02: Pick up PAX at time from hotel with packing Break Fast and txf to Apt for Mountain Flight. After MTN flt Drive to Ancient City Bhaktapur and Patan.
Day 03: Pick up PAX at time from hotel and Drive to Dhanding then trek to Patale Village for Home Stay.
Day 04: All Day in Patle Village. Enjoy with host family.
Day 05: Pick up PAX at time from Home Stay house and Trek down to Dhanding. Drive to Rafting point. After Rafting Drive to Chitawan.
Day 06: Whole Day Jungle Activities.
Day 07: Pick up PAX at time from hotel and Drive to Pokhara. Lunch on the way. After check in hotel then free.
Day 08: Early in the morning visit Sarankot view point. Enjoy Sunrise and Annapuran Mountains Ranges. Then Pokhara Sightseeing Boating too.
Day 09: Pick up PAX at time from hotel and transfer to Pokhara Domestic Airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Then Kathmandu City Sightseeing.
Day 10: Pick up PAX at time from hotel and transfer to International airport. Brief about how to check in and how to go to Immigration. Say takes care and good Bye.

Sirubari Astam Trek

The Sirubari village is a Gurung settlement set in the hills at 1,700 metres above sea level. The climate is ideal at any time between September and June with warm days and cool nights. The Village is a 4 to 5 hour drive from Pokhara, the major tourist centre for the Annapurna region. The main road goes to Baglung but a turn-off to the left at Naudanda goes to Sirubari. If you wish to walk, the trail to the village is steep but well made and most people manage to reach the village after a four or five hour walk from Naudanda.

When you reach Sirubari, you will be welcomed into the community and invited to stay in the home of one of the village families. The accommodation is simple but comfortable with good bedding as well as clean toilet facilities. The food is delicious and you will be eating your meals as one of the family.
Every night there will be entertainment provide by the villagers. One evening this will be in the form of traditional Gurung and Nepali dancing and singing - you can join in if you like. As the locals are all Buddhist, the gompa, a simple but beautiful temple, will be a feature of your stay. There will be the chance to get a blessing from the resident lama before you leave.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu then transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Pick at hotel then fly to Pokhara. Transfer to karkineta then go to Sirubari Village.
Day 03: All day excursions in Sirubari Village.
Day 04: Fly back to Pokhara then all day free. Provide lunch and dinner.
Day 05: Pick at hotel then transfer to milanchok.Then trek to ASTAMKOT(HANANOIE)
Day 06: Trek DOWN to Milanchok. Then Transfer to Pokhara. Lunch at PKR. Fly back to Kathmandu, then free.

Ghalegaun is a beautiful vilage. It is situated at an altitude of 1,970 metres(6461feet), northwest of Khudi which is the main entrance point to the famous Annapurna trekking route. There are 105 houses. The population is composed almost entirely of Gurung (TAMU) of which about 25 houses are Chhetri and Biswakarma. The Gurung (TAMU)are one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. They have their own Gurung language and a great culture. From Ghale Gaun you have a beautiful view of the Himalayas - Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu and many other small mountain peaks. You can also see the many rolling green hills and valleys belonging to 13 different districts.

FESTIVAL
The people are mainly Hindus and Buddhist at Ghale Gaun.Therefore, their festival are guided by these two religions.Their main festival is Lhosar(December/January).Also they will celebrations Dashai & Tihar in Chandy Purnima(Full moon) "May".They performed a Ghatu Dance for four days with great ceromony. Another interesting festival is , people go to Dudh Pokhari at altitude of 5,205meter to take a ritual Bath and offer worship to a local deities during Janai Purnima(August).

FLORA & FAUNA
Ghalegaun has a mountainous climate hence forests are mostly sparse pine tree.Willow trees add to the local beauty, as do the many bushy plants that grow in the region.Dense forest and big trees are some one to two hours walk away from the village.On approaching Ghalegaun by way of Bhalam Chour and Lami Tal, or on returning via Bhanche Gaun, one can walk through jungles of rhododendron,chestnut,with undergrowth of raspberry,nettle, hemp, mugwort, and many other plants. The region is home to many birds like partridges,nightingales, owls,doves, crows,eagles,kites, vultures and barbets.There are animals like cheetahs, leopards, bears,deer, wild-cats, martens, porcupines,hedgehogs, and foxes in the region.A multitude of insects like butterflies, bees wasps, grasshoppers, crickets, glow worms, ants and spiders are some insects found here.The domestic livestock in Ghalegaun are sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes and domestic birds like chickens, pigeons and ducks.

LIFESTYLE
Most residents of Ghalegaun live the typical life of hardworking hill farmers.They wear traditional dress during special occasions and festival.Visiters are often fascinated by the lifestyle of the Gurungs.A typical day for the natives includes work outside and inside the house like:Ploughing or sowing in the fields, or cutting grass for livestock fodder, choppin firewood for cooking meals, milking cows, churning curd, fetching water from the spring.Washing clothes.During leisure people just sit in sun talking to neighbors.
